Thai students win the Drone Programming Championship for the 5th consecutive time

The Drone Soccer Association of Thailand and Drone Academy Thailand led Thai coaches and athletes to win 1st place in the “Drone Odyssey Challenge 2024” held from July 16–18, 2024, at the Singapore Science Centre. This marks their fifth consecutive championship in this major Southeast Asian Drone Programming competition, which has been held annually since 2018. This year, the event welcomed 300 participants from 77 teams representing Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia. The competition featured events such as Drone Obstacle and Drone Swarming across elementary, secondary, and university levels.

  • Drone Obstacle Competition

Participants are required to apply skills in programming, mathematics, planning, and teamwork to command drones to fly autonomously. Key skills include obstacle avoidance, image capturing, object herding, and QR code scanning within a time limit. This competition emphasizes control capabilities and real-time problem-solving.

  • Drone Swarming Competition

In this event, participants are required to use more than one drone to complete the entire mission. Competitors must program and control the drones using a tablet or laptop to fly and execute tasks simultaneously. Essential skills include coordination and the ability to manage multiple drones at the same time.
