Rules and Scoring System of Drone Soccer

Competition Rules

The standard field layout (as shown in the image above): each team consists of up to 5 players and 5 drone balls on the field during the drone soccer match.

Each team has 5 players on the field, and only the striker is allowed to score by flying through the opponent's goal. Other players may assist the striker in offense or defend against the opposing striker.

After the striker successfully scores, all team members must return to their own side of the field behind the center line before initiating the next attack.

A match consists of 3 sets. Each set lasts 3 minutes, with a 5-minute maintenance break between sets. The team that wins 2 sets is declared the winner of the match.

Scoring System

A team scores when the striker's drone ball passes through the opponent's goal ring.
– The goal ring must be crossed in the direction of the opponent’s end line.
– When half of the drone ball passes the front of the goal ring, it is up to the referee to decide whether it is a valid goal, even if an automatic scoring system is in use.

Scoring occurs only if the drone ball that passes through the opponent’s goal ring belongs to the striker; if any other player’s drone does so, it does not count as a score, though no penalty is given.

After scoring, all team members must immediately return to their side behind the center line before attempting to score again. However, this requirement does not apply if the drone ball has fallen to the ground and is unable to take off again.

The opposing team is not allowed to block the drone ball from returning to the team’s side.

In the event of a rule violation, the offending team may be penalized with a penalty shot. In any case, scoring decisions based on rule violations are final and not subject to review.
